The Bible is Not Boring.
Our great group of volunteers and staff believe the Bible is not boring and they strive to make learning about Jesus exciting and applicable for your kids.

Combining Church & Home.
We use Orange Curriculum by the ReThink Group. Orange is a strategy that combines the two main influences in a child’s life: home and church to fuel passion for Jesus in the next generation. We strive to help not only the kids but the entire family through handouts given every week to continue the conversation at home.

Age Appropriate Classes.
Open Door Kidz at the Edenton Campus has separate classrooms for babies, toddlers, preschool, K – 1st grade, and 2nd – 4th grade. Each room is able to provide age-appropriate activities, songs and teachings.
Dedicated Volunteers
If you’d like to volunteer with children’s ministries, we’d love to talk with you! Our children’s ministry has the most need for volunteers on any given Sunday morning. Every volunteer with children or youth has a background check to keep everyone safe.
CHECK-IN PROCESS
SAFETY INFORMATION
We know the safety of your children is of the utmost importance. Open Door Kidz Edenton has a check-in and check-out process for that reason. Check-in for the kids at the Edenton Campus takes place at the second set of doors you see as you drive into our parking lot. The Open Door Kidz lobby has check-in stations and attendants to help you with the process. Once your information has been entered into the computer, 2 stickers are printed. One will go to the child and one will stay with the adult who checks in the child. Check-out will take place at your child’s room. You give your sticker to the volunteer in the class to ensure matching numbers with your child’s when picking them up.
A Note from the Children’s Pastor
As a church, we strongly believe that your faith is influenced heavily by what you are taught as a child. We strive to partner with parents in laying the building blocks of this faith and fostering a relationship with Christ. We also believe that the Bible is not too complicated for kids to begin to understand and learn. We teach with Bible scriptures and fun activities that engage the kids and teach them how to apply what they have learned to their lives.
We have dedicated volunteers who provide small groups for 4 year olds-4th graders. This is a great way for your child to connect with an adult who will grow to know them and invest in their spiritual growth. We want the same things for your kids as we do for our own: to know Christ as their Savior and walk on the path He has made for them. We pray that you and your kids will enjoy your experience at Open Door Church and become part of our church family.
