Ministries Beyond Sunday.

We love to gather, connect and learn beyond Sunday morning services.

  • This is a grass-roots ministry launched by three women at Open Door Church. 2 Hope meets the homeless population in Edenton, Hertford, Elizabeth City, and the surrounding communities showing them the love of Christ and meeting their physical and spiritual needs.

  • Boxes of Hope is an initiative of Open Door Church to help feed families through the Christmas break. Each box will provide a small Christmas meal and supplemental groceries to 100 needy families in Edenton and Hertford schools.

    Contact amber@visitopendoor.com for more information.

  • Brew 2 Rescue Café is located in Hertford, NC, and serves a full line of coffee and espresso drinks, breakfast and lunch items, as well as scratch-made bakery items. Profits help fight human trafficking and help educate people about its danger. Brew 2 Rescue Café also has a small Edenton campus café serving coffee, soda, and snacks.

  • The purpose of Open Door Church’s Celebrate Recovery ministry is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the Eight Recovery Choices. This ministry allows us to be changed by being willing to accept God’s grace in solving life’s problems. By believing and applying biblical principles, we begin to grow spiritually. We become free from our addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, serenity, joy, and most importantly, a stronger personal relationship with God and others. Celebrate Recovery meets at the Edenton Campus in the Open Door Youth Room every Tuesday at 6:30PM. Everyone inside and outside the church is welcome.

  • Since 2011, Open Door Church has fed over 15,000 meals to the Edenton Steamers. All players and staff for both the Steamers and the visiting team are provided a meal after every home game. Preparing a meal is just a small way you can get involved to show love and serve our community.

  • Over the past 12 months, Open Door Church Food Distribution has served an average of 85 households each month. We need about 12-15 volunteers to provide food for people from our five surrounding counties. Food distribution is available to anyone in need, regardless of income levels or situation. Food Distribution is scheduled for the 4th Thursday of the month, from 5PM-6:30PM but can vary in November and December due to the holidays.

  • Is your heart broken? Lost? Stuck?

We are all grievers. Grief is the normal and natural reaction to loss of any kind. In our culture, we’re taught how to acquire things, not what to do when we lose them. Recovery from loss is achieved by a series of small and correct choices made by the griever. We learn to think in a more complete way about our losses. We don’t get over grief, we get complete with it.

This ministry includes leading groups through a structured grief recovery educational program.

  • Life Groups are all about Jesus followers gathering together and building supportive relationships for personal and biblical growth. They are small groups of individuals/couples that meet on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis to encourage each other in Christ. They are places to take what we know about Jesus and help each other begin applying that knowledge to our everyday lives. Each one of our groups takes on a shape of its own, defined by the personalities and engagement of the group members and leaders. We hope that no matter what group you join, it will be a safe, trusted place for you to find hope in Jesus and encouragement from his disciples. Life Groups are for everyone, every stage of growth, including new believers and someone considering following Jesus. Begin the process today by clicking this link below and filling out this brief form so that we can help connect you with a group that best relates to you.

  • The Men’s Ministry is a place where men can find friendship and build their relationship with God. Book studies and small groups for men meet throughout the year, check out our sign up page for upcoming Men’s Ministry events.

  • We provide prayer shawls and baby blankets to console those grieving, comfort those ill, bring hope to those in despair, and celebrate life's milestones. Reasons to create a shawl or blanket are as numerous as the people who make them.

  • Restore Hope is currently working directly with transition homes in Moldova. Our goals are to raise awareness, raise funds, and rescue and restore those imprisoned by human trafficking in hopes of one day abolishing modern-day slavery.

  • Royal Rangers is a mentoring program for boys and young men in the church, with a focus on outdoor adventure, character development, and leadership training. The program is designed to help boys grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, while also developing important life skills and a strong sense of community. Through a variety of activities, such as camping, hiking, and service projects, boys learn important values such as integrity, respect, and responsibility. The program is led by trained leaders who provide guidance and support as boys navigate the challenges of growing up.
