At Open Door, we believe that kids of ALL ages can learn! Because we believe this, we work to take advantage of every second we have with them to teach them the Good News of Jesus Christ in a fun, interactive, age-appropriate way. Classes are full of energy, upbeat, contemporary music, and exciting story telling. It is our goal to first and foremost demonstrate Christ’s love to our children through our actions. Every child we work with is important to us. We work hard to know them by name, their likes and dislikes, and what is going on in their lives. We are invested in the growth of every child’s personal relationship with Jesus.
Nursery: Birth – Age 2
Let our loving staff care for your child so you can focus on worship. Our nursery staff is watchful and compassionate to each of your child’s needs. Your child will be exposed to God’s Word through children’s books and children’s Bible songs. The beginnings of a lifetime relationship with the Lord start here.
Toddler’s Church: Age 2 – Age 3
This is the next step. During Toddler’s Church, children will listen to and learn from Bible stories and will be encouraged to repeat those stories back to their teachers in different ways. Once a child can re-tell a story in their own words, it is theirs forever. We want to build a treasury of Bible stories and life lessons for them to draw from over a lifetime.
Children’s Church: Age 4 – Grade 5
This leg of the journey is dedicated to leading children to become more responsible for their own personal relationship with Jesus Christ and how to apply what they’ve learned to their daily lives. Children are encouraged to participate in reading their Bibles every day of the week as well as learn a monthly memory verse. Students who participate are rewarded with “Sand Dollars” which they may spend in our reward center with their parents at the end of class. We want to make Bible study, prayer, and worship a daily exercise that will grow into a fruitful adult habit.
