This ministry strives to provide support for families who have suffered the loss of a loved one from the moment of passing through the day of the funeral and beyond. Once we are informed, one of our deacons in charge of bereavement support will be in contact with the family to assess not only the physical needs but the spiritual needs as well. Most members are cared for by their personal Life Group, but since there are some members who do not participate in Life Groups, a Bereavement Support Team has been established to assist with meals and other needs for families during this time. This ministry supports church members, their parents, grandparents, or children who have passed away or who are suffering through an extended illness. If you know of a situation in our church family that needs our support, please contact the church office at 252-482-7927 or email Wendy at wendyk@visitopendoor.com so that it may be reported to the bereavement team.
